Bah, the combination of "I have no free evenings between now and Sunday" (due to Readercon) and "I cannot physically reach many of my crafting supplies because of boxes I have not yet carried down to the basement that are in the way" is kind of stressing me out. I think this is a more extreme version of the "I need to re-dye my hair" stress--realizing that I don't have an evening available for something time-consuming like hairdyeing makes me feel sort of temporally claustrophobic. Hmph.

On the plus side, I realized that I'll probably enjoy re-playing Myst 3 because I only played it once several years ago. So it's on order from Amazon, since I don't know where my copy is; I got the $20 anniversary pack of the first 3 games and intend to pass them along to my younger cousins when I'm done (I'll san-check the Windows XP install process for them since my aunt's family is not terribly tech-savvy).

I was in a very Orphan's Tales-ish mood when I spun and plied this--thinking of trees and shadows and faded flowers and dead leaves underfoot. But now when I look at it, I'm just reminded of this horrible couch we had when I was a little kid.

The thin multicolored strand is a slubby commercial Rayon, and the rest is green and black merino/wool blend (I think) spun together intentionally thick-and-thin.

Craftsy people, what say you?
